Normal citizens, completely pumped up about the presence of the Makaha Sons up in our corner of the Great White North! http://www.makahasons.com/home.html [makahasons.com] …add plumeria flown in from Hawai'i and yards of aloha print cloth… My comments are at http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/8752/toronto/ondemand/audio/sep15hul_TOR.wma [cbc.ca] …and the music = a magical evening full of aloha!!! Unbelievable. Here I am with 2 of the 3 Makaha Sons. Uncle Moon serves as a judge for Merrie Monarch (and kinda reminds me of my dad)! Uncle John (on left) has sons who do hula, and oo they are good. Uncle Jerome was busy with other groupies to the left. They closed their show with Kui Lee's ‘I’ll Remember You.' Absolutely heart-rending. And we get to do it all again tomorrow night. This is my enchanted life.
