I did not enjoy anything more than chasing cats down the streets of Cairo.
I think the love was mutual between us.
"Hey lady, why are you staring at me?"
"Yes, I know I am cute. You don't need to repeat it over and over".
"Hey, I like you. I'll call you mom from now on and you can take me home"
"OK, so shall I run, or freeze, or meow, or stare?"
"So, I am going to roar now and you'd better run."
"You said WHAAAAT?"
"Meow mom, take me home!"
"Maaaan, these bugs..."
"Earphones, fun!!!"
My trip through Cairo was made much warmer by a family of street cats that lived in the gardens of my hotel (1 mother cat, 1 father cat, and three little kittens). I am definitely a cat person, and oddly enough, they are one of my fondest travel memories. Your photos take me back to them. :)
So cute! They have much more siamese shaped faces than most British moggies - I guess it must be a local genetic feature.

Just a thought... the ancient Egyptians worshipped cats. How are they regarded in modern-day Egypt? Are these street cats left alone and seen as a way to keep the rodent population down, or are they seen as vermin themselves?
