Today, when the world seems to have gone crazy, Russia manages to move borders and take over more and more of Georgian territory, while illegally detaining Georgian citizens.
I took these photos with my very first digital camera in the summer of 2008 when my family and I had already fled my hometown Gori first to Borjomi and later to Tbilisi. Georgians protested the Russian occupation on the streets of the capital city. We all stood together against the aggressors, peacefully holding hands.
12 years have passed and people who have been displaced from their homes still have not gone back. We lose more territory every day, and there seems no hope to stop this injustice.
