His condition today

Some of you will remember Matthew's plight over most of his live, but specifically in 2008. February, 2008 [photoblog.com] and May, 2008 [photoblog.com] These are just 2 of his hospital stays.
Well, things have gone right along for him, some good and some bad. Fortunately, only a couple of hospital runs in 2009, but no overnight stays.
Right now, he is fighting with his condition and has been since December 16, 2008. It has been that long since he has felt “normal”. His chest will be tight, his stomach hurt, he'll be extra tired or breathing hard. 2 months is a long time to not feel right, and I really feel bad for him. He is such a wonderful kid and just takes it all in stride.
For now, he is receiving an inhaled antibiotic, 2 times per day, and it is scheduled for the next 2 months. It takes about 20-30 minutes each time, so he has to get up early each morning to get it done before school. It has been a week, and so far, no change.
His condition, bronchomalacia, really doesn't have a “cure”. It is a permanent condition which flares up, a lot of times for an unknown reason. It could be a smell, smoke, a cold or the change in the weather. We really don't know and that is frustrating. Fortunately, we have stayed out of the hospital and Matthew continues to smile. You gotta love this boy.

Oh gosh!
I feel for you. There is nothing like knowing your child has to deal with something he shouldn't have to. What a trooper he is.
You should make a book out of your photoblog. It's a story of your life.
