EPIDERMIS

i saw a documentary about skin, it was fascinating!
The structure of the skin is complex: for an area of 1 cm ² skin and an average thickness of 3 mm, it takes 10 hair follicles, sweat glands 100 and up 2,500 sensory cells and 3 meters capillary blood and lymph, 12 meters of nerve fibers.

the first barrier of our defence system

Melanocytes are located only in the deepest layer of skin.

Their function is to synthesize melanin pigment …

the melanin pigment contributing to the colour of the skin…

we would have all been roses as crayfish…

the skin is the envelope of the soul…

fascinating skin!

Great close-ups, Tomy, especially #1. Well, skin is the largest organ of the body ... Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend.
