Week 4: Theme - A Spot of Color

by Tracylynn Seeger January. 27, 2011 1247 views

The weather has been beautiful here in California the last week. I went out to the back yard before the kids woke up, and saw these leaves, and thought they would make a good subject for this week's theme. The idea was to take a shot that has one area that commands your attention with color that is brighter than the rest of the shot.

Kit & setup:
D40 camera hand held
85mm macro lens
Lit by natural light, late morning on a sunny, winter day

Post editing:
I increased the exposure by 1 stop, deepened the shadows, and sharpened a little in Photoshop Elements 8.

EXIF Data:
Exposure 1/400 sec
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 85 mm
ISO Speed 400
