Day 210 - Project 365 "Pattern"

by Trinicia Perch July. 29, 2019 183 views

Playing with light patterns today. This was a fun shoot for me, not so much for my subject. I wish I could have gotten her to sit for a little longer as I had a few other patterns I wanted to try. Friends and video games won out over being my helper.

Looks almost like there's light coming out of the center part of a confessional. And that perfectly fits the facial expression of your unwilling subject. Nice shot, Trinicia smile

Thanks Bjorn, I did not notice that at first until a friend pointed it out.  That is totally a happy accident.  One of my favorite portraits.

Beautiful photo! How did you create the shadow patterns?

Thank you!  This was pretty simple.  I used a colander and a flash light.  I had my husband hold the colander in front of her face and the shine the light into the back of the colander.  The closer you hold the colander the more defined the lot spots are.

Very cool, a true family effort! smile Thank you so much for sharing how you did it. I tried using a flashlight with a colander once, just against a plain wall, but seeing it with a portrait is so much more interesting.
