Snowy Egret – Lake Hodges April, 2018

by Triina Turula September. 13, 2018 482 views

There was a LOT of water in Lake Hodges this spring and we were able to see many water birds.  We discovered that the Snowy Egrets actually nest in the early part of the year at the nearby San Diego Zoo Safari Park.  If you go to the platform above the hot air balloon, you can see them in the trees.

Ready for takeoff.

Ready for takeoff.

They do come back to Lake Hodges for the spring and summer and Tom caught this one as he was ready to take flight.
