The balcony observer's 224th report (Video)- Who enjoyed baths? 誰愛洗澡 (Zosterops japonicus)

by Tsao T-F February. 09, 2020 205 views

Late winter is a good time to photograph birds on a balcony. In Taichung, the phenomenon of defoliation is not obvious in autumn. Even if bird friends visit my balcony, they are often hid by leaves. I could only hear their's sound. Until late winter or early spring, last year's old leaves did not star to fall off.

This morning after watering , I sprayed the leaves with a shower head. A pair of Japanese white-eyes (Zosterops japonicus) visited my balcony just after my leaving there. I stood behind French windows to observe these two guys. Of course, I did not forget to take pictures and videos in sunlight...

Finally, I hope all people will be healthy and safe under the threat of Wuhan's coronavirus outbreak. It is a dark hour.

WOW! This is truly a work of a very patient person. Loved the video and the music went so well with the bird's actions. As always your site is one that I enjoy very much and one that brings peace. Thank you for sharing smile

Thank you, Camellia. I also love your wonderful pages.grinning
The performer of the background violin music is my niece (thank you!). You may note a lot of repeated segments because she is just practicing.

Is it possibly the Suzuki method? I only ask because my daughter started piano lessons at the age of 3 using the Suzuki method, She was absolutely phenomenal by the age of 15, but as all things happen at the teenage age, she found other things that she enjoyed more than practicing, so gradually she quit. Believe me I tried to convince her every which way, but I was not successful.

I  have no idea about "Suzuki method" before. I just read it by Google.
I can feel you like music very much and it is very pity to your daughter quitting piano. However, you can not control some things of your child because she has her own living. Do you play instrument? I gave up both piano and violin at the teenage age also (Sorry, mom!). Maybe I lost something and got another. Who knows? Anyway, friendly keep in touch with children.grinning

Yes, I too played piano until the age of 18 and gave it up when I went to college. Life moves on smile

Thank you, Buster.
Because of the green color, they are usually not showy among leaves on photos. So I like to photograph them on red flowers (e.g., Amaryllis) in full bloom. However, it happens only in spring and I have to spend a lot of time to wait the moment.

What a fun visit! I loved the video too - such a fast, active little bird and good storytelling!
It's disheartening to read the news about coronavirus (I agree with Antonio that your posts bring calm in a crazy world). A dark time indeed.
