The balcony observer's 246th report- Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera)- Delicious 構樹美味

by Tsao T-F June. 21, 2020 369 views

This is the third ripe fruit of Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) in this year. The flesh seemed to be more and denser than the previous one. It was a bit cloudy in the morning, and I didn't start shooting until about ten o'clock. After waiting for a while, Japanese white-eyes (Zosterops japonicus) called Zuo-Zuo & You-You came and they were very happy. A light-vented bulbul (Pycnonotus sinensis) called A-Shou found it later...

A fruit of Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) was fully mature in the morning on my balcony in Taichung, Taiwan. 這個早上,一顆構樹果在我的陽台上完全熟了。

Tsao, I am curious.....what is the distance between you and your camera from the paper mulberry tree?

Two situations:
1. A fruit only (#1)
I usually shoot as close as possible (about 10 cm)smile
2. A fruit coupled with a bird (#2 - #10)
The distance between grids and glasses of French windows varies from 1.2 m (on the south side) to 1.6 m (on the north side). Although the paper mulberry tree is inside the grids, theirs fruits are usually out of grids, about 0.5 - 1.0 m where there is more sunlight. I usually put may camera just behind French windows.

Besides, to avoid complete backlighting (camera 2), I usually need an oblique pathway (camera 1) to get some side-lighting. Situations depend on the time (early vs late morning) and the season, and therefore the bird-camera distance may change, about 2 - 3 m.grinning

Thank you Tsao for the detailed response and the links. Now I need to find the extensive patience needed for this type of photography. smile
