【Harry's wand & fans, Javan myna (Acridotheres javanicus) 5/10 哈利的魔杖與粉絲-白尾八哥】

Myna is lively, smart, and good at imitating, and is one of the most popular pet birds. They are common in parks or campuses in Taiwanese cities. They often gather together, making noises, as if arguing.

八哥活潑、聰明、擅長模仿，是受歡迎的寵物鳥之一。牠們在台灣都市裡的公園或校園很常見。牠們常常好幾隻聚集在一起，聒噪個不停，像是在吵架。

A Javan myna came to my balcony and stayed on Harry Potter's magic wand (Jacaranda mimosifolia) in Taichung, Taiwan. 一隻白尾八哥飛來我的陽台，停在哈利波特的神奇魔法棒上。

He looks very unhappy and may quarrel with his friend again. 牠看起來很不開心，大概是又和朋友吵架了。

Look, because he is so angry, the feathers on the head are all raised. 瞧，因為太生氣了，牠頭上的羽毛都翹起來了。

Javan myna (Acridotheres javanicus)

The Javan myna (Acridotheres javanicus), also known as the white-vented myna, is a species of myna. It is a member of the starling family. In Taiwan, there are three main types of starlings living on plain and hilly areas below 1,000 meters above sea level:

1). Javan myna (Acridotheres javanicus),

2) common myna or Indian myna (Acridotheres tristis), and

3). crested myna (Acridotheres cristatellus).

Only the last one is a native species (indigenous species).

Among them, the Javan myna is the most common. The mouth is yellow and the wings are black. The tail feathers (especially the ventral side) are white, hence the name. They are alien species (introduced species).

爪哇八哥 (Acridotheres javanicus)

爪哇八哥，又名白尾八哥，為八哥科八哥屬下的一個種。在台灣，生活在海拔1000公尺以下的平地以及丘陵地區的八哥主要有三種：「白尾八哥」(Acridotheres javanicus)、「家八哥」(Acridotheres tristis)，以及唯一原生的「八哥」(Acridotheres cristatellus)。其中，數量最多、最常見的是白尾八哥。嘴巴是黃色，翅膀是黑色。尾端羽毛(尤其是腹側面)為白色，因而得名。牠們是外來種。

He is covered with black feathers. The eyes, mouth, and feet are all yellow-orange. 牠全身披著黑色的羽毛。眼睛，嘴巴，腳，都是黃橙色。

Huh! Have I been discovered by him? 咦!我被牠發現了嗎?

He is staring at me. A little white feathers appear under the right-side wing. 牠正瞪我。右邊翅膀下方一點點白色的羽毛露了出來。
