I don't know what these are, but they are a common hedge in our neighborhood and manage to rise up in our garden by surprise.

Roses or at least some relatives - maybe rose hip?

Thank you! I'm going to check next time I'm at the nursery. They are tiny, waxy, and bloom in clumps. So pretty!!

Maybe that wasn't the right word... the blossoms and leaves are quite thick & shiny; very hardy!
