Refugee Kitties

Earlier this year one of the feral cats in our neighborhood had kittens, and unfortunately the coyotes got them one night. After that we didn't see the mama cat for a while, but now she is back with a new litter of kittens. She seems to be moving them around from yard to yard several times each day to hide them.

I managed to get a few quick pictures when they visited our yard, but they were definitely not happy about it (especially mama, who growled and charged at one of our dogs ferociously enough to stop him in his tracks). The multicolored kitten here was hissing and spitting up a storm! She would jump when she hissed, almost like a snake striking. It was really strange to hear such sudden, scary noises coming from these darling little creatures.

I like these two photos, Bethany. The eyes staring through the gaps in the boards really adds a sense of mystery to the pics.

Thank you, Greg! That was pretty much the only angle I could get without upsetting them, but it worked out well.
