Signs of Spring

Here we are mid February and all the leaves and blossoms are just waiting to burst forth.

These make me think of Ivan Karamazov's sticky little leaves.

These make me think of Ivan Karamazov's sticky little leaves.

I have to laugh any time I see a robin now. In the last two weeks there have been tons of them mobbing the parking lot at my work. Every morning when I get there, it's like some Alfred Hitchcock situation. They are stripping the last of the winter berries off the bushes and making quite a mess of all the cars while they're at it. Really earning their nickname of sh*tbirds.

i used to take robins for granted.. then you look at them thru a camera lens and they are gorgeous birds..

Thank you! And I think I took robins for granted too. I didn't realize how intricately patterned their feathers are until I saw them through the lens. Such pretty birds!

Great photos, Bethany. We are not at that stage yet, but we had a pretty warm weekend (15°C/59F) and I discovered a little green shoot in one of my plant pots on the balcony. smile

Thank you! It's so encouraging to see signs of life again after winter, isn't it? smile

So beautiful post. Love the way you've used DOF in first ones, and the robin is amazing

Gee, hope we aren't too far behind...everything is covered in snow, but it seems like spring wants to come early by looking at everyone's posts!
Thanks for sharing these beautiful signs of spring!

It sure feels like it's early this year! I'm still a little bummed that we didn't get any snow this winter (not that we ever get much), so thank you for sharing photos of your winter wonderland! smile

Ok,
Let me know what you think of them.
Unfortunately they don't display well as they are so WIDE.
