Morning on the Mountain - Part 1

by Bethany Plonski April. 02, 2019 275 views

I've been taking more photos than I can keep up with lately, so in the interest of catching up a little, this is a mixed bag from my excursion to Arabia Mountain the weekend before last. The diversity of plant and animal life there is pretty amazing for a giant expanse of rock.

I wanted to catch the sunrise while I was there, but in typical turtle fashion, I was late and missed it by about 15 minutes. Fortunately, it was still early enough to enjoy some beautiful morning light.

Thank you! It is a great location for that. Kind of like being a kid in a candy store! smile

Thank you! Kind of all over the place with content, but it's so much fun to visit places where there are a variety of interesting subjects to shoot. smile

Thank you so much, what a nice compliment! smile Being outside with nature and taking pictures both feel like spiritual activities to me. I'm happy to know that comes through in my pictures.

The beauty is amazing and the little squirrel looks like she is ready to take on the new day!

Thank you! She was so funny – I startled her at first, but then she just kept climbing to different points in the tree and poking her head around to see what I was doing. Squirrels always make me smile. grinning

Arabia Mountain is a glorious name... I'll have to Google it!

I tried to find out where the name came from, and the only explanation anyone offered was that it might originate from the time when they had a quarry there and the workers would say “it’s hot as Arabia.” If you find anything different, I'd love to know though!
