Gardenias

May is one of the best months of the year in Georgia - the humidity hasn't kicked in yet, everything is green and blooming, and if you sit outside in the evenings you can catch the scent of honeysuckle and other flowers in the air. These are my neighbor's hardy gardenias. They smell heavenly!

I love gardenias. We can’t grow them here in Idaho. At least I can’t. Beautiful shot.

Thanks, Heidi! I'd never seen them before I lived here. There are quite a few in our neighborhood - guess the builder must have liked them.

I'm rather familiar with gardenias with its fruits, since when I had a inflammation in the foot, an oriental medicine doctor prescribed me the ground gardenias fruits. I don't know whether it works well or not but I like its smell. Anyhow it's first time to see it when they are alive. I love your vivid macro shots. Thanks. smile

Thank you so much! That's really neat that they are used to treat inflammation, I've never heard of that! I'm always surprised how useful plants can be (in addition to being beautiful). smile Glad to share the photos!

Thank you! I was trying a new white balance filter and pretty happy with how it handled the evening light.
