Weekly Theme - My Favorite Subject

by Bethany Plonski June. 26, 2019 281 views

I like too many things. Even the things I don't expect to like, I will often become fond of (except for math ... that one never took). So I don't know if I can say I have a true favorite with anything, let alone photography. But nature, wildlife, pets, and horses all bring me a lot of happiness and opportunities to learn. I also enjoy food, travel, and still life, and landscape photography ... so maybe I would have been better off identifying things I don't especially enjoy taking photos of. :) And really, the only one is people - because of how uncomfortable it makes me feel.

Nature is the complete opposite. It always brings me peace. I love to go outside and forget about all annoying things in life like work, bills, the news. When that stuff gets to be too much, nature is how I remind myself what is really important.

So here's some nature - a dragonfly I saw by the lake during golden hour.

It is great that you like many things and to learn and to do them.smile
The best thing in the world is to wake up in the morning and know you have something to do, said by Edward B. Singleton who spent his entire career at one institution - Texas Children's Hospital until the age of 94.

I count it a double score when the image and the narrative match my own feelings. Beautifully done.

So ethereal and beautiful. Love how the sun shines on its wings

Thank you! Usually I am disappointed when I lose detail on part of the subject, but this time I liked how it brought out the shine in the wings. smile

You do not have a one track mind and see the beauty in a lot of things. That sounds like a normal human (although there's lots of humans that do have a one track mind and have forgotten to see beauty where it is). And you make good photos of the things you see smile

Thanks, Bjorn. Even though it makes me feel scatterbrained sometimes, being able to see and enjoy lots of different things has its benefits. smile
