Froggy Friends

by Bethany Plonski June. 30, 2019 291 views

I love frogs, but around here I usually hear them a lot more often than I actually see them. Today was quite a lucky day because I got to see two different kinds. Their eyes are so interesting!

I didn't realize mosquitos bothered frogs too!

This little one was so tiny - about the size of a quarter.

Thank you! The water was very, very green - it came across a little too strong in some of the other photos. smile

Great images of our little wet reptilian friends Bethany. My place has been invaded by these cute little creatures. I find them in my pool every morning. I protect them by just moving them back into the greenery. #2 my favorite.

Thank you! How kind of you to look out for them! Are they hard to catch?

Those little creatures are as easy to çatch as a turtle! They have no fear. However those caught in my pool are scooped up with a soft net. 😊

They are tricky to find - sneaky little buggers... Great shots!

Thank you! They are very tricky indeed. I was lucky to notice one moving in the water, and once I started looking more closely I realized there were four others!

Thank you, Lynn! I was really glad to get that one, because that frog was super shy and kept hiding under the water. smile

Really nice shots. Love the colors and eyes in #2. Are you sure the guy in #5 is not the same one who was stuck to my window? smile

Thank you! And too funny, I just went and looked at your glob, and I do see a striking resemblance! smile A few years ago, we had a little tiny frog with big long toes like the one in your photos. He lived in the side of our windowsill and would come out at night to catch mosquitos and bugs - best pest control there is!

Thank you so much! The water in the pond where I saw them was much greener than most lake/pond water I see here - I liked how it turned out in the photos!

Good shots. Similar to Heike, I can't say that I 'love' frogs, but they are really funny.grinning

Thank you! I'm not sure why I like them so much, maybe because they seem humble and a little goofy. frog

great shots.. those tiny guys we call peepers, and for how tiny they are, they have the loudest voice..

Thank you! I didn't realize that was a peeper, too cool! I'll have to look up what they sound like so I know when I hear one next time.

So I went and looked it up, and they are one of the ones I hear on a daily basis! I just never knew that's what I was hearing. Thanks for pointing it out!smile

Really great set, Bethany. I can't say that I 'love' frogs smile, but they are somehow funny. (I think I prefer more the fur and feathers animals.)  #2 is really outstanding!

Thank you! I had quite a game of hide and seek with that frog to get its photo grinning It was very shy and ducked under the water every time it noticed me.

Great shots, Bethany. I especially like #4 with the bubble and ripples. Such sharp focus on the eye, as well. Very nice!!

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was a bubble or the reflection of his eye in that one, but I decided I liked it either way! smile
