This week our weather was all over the place, again. Unseasonably warm weather escalated into thunderstorms and tornados on Thursday and ended with snow on Saturday. The snow was short-lived, as usual, but it sure was beautiful.
This is one of my favorite views at the lake on Saturday morning. By late afternoon on Saturday, it had warmed up enough for the snow to turn to sleet and rain. Most of the remaining snow had turned to slush and ice by Sunday morning.
I was really glad the snow came on a day when I was home and had time to get out and enjoy it. When we walked the dog tonight, you would hardly have been able to guess we had about 2 inches covering everything the day before. It was almost like we got to live in another world for a day.
My tolerance for cold isn't what it used to be, so camera shake blurred a lot more of the photos than I expected. I was also using an umbrella and a plastic rain protector, so with all that bogging me down I got pretty lazy about changing settings. Definitely some lessons learned from this outing!
Still, being out in the snow just made my weekend.
Took this one through the screen on our porch. Not very sharp, but I can't resist a cardinal against a snowy background.
I spent a big chunk of my weekend outside enjoying the wintery weather, so I decided to break things up into a few sets. Next up, birds, blossoms, and black and whites. :)
