Ponies, Again

by Bethany Plonski March. 04, 2020 457 views

This weekend I visited some old friends again. It's been a while since I've been around horses, and my excitement got the better of me. I didn't think much about my shutter speed, which would have helped me avoid camera shake on this cold morning. Even so, these make me happy.

I wasn't crazy about the colors in most of these shots, but I did like the light in the leaves in the background on this one.

Very nice set Bethany. I believe the shade/tone (whatever it is called) of monochrome really makes each photo stand out. The darkness of the horses against the lighter background makes them pop. And then there is that look in #5 smile

Thank you! I’ve been a little obsessed with sepia tones lately. smile I made a few presets in Lightroom and have been going through my library trying them on everything.

Maybe one of the most beautiful creatures on earth- leopards running a close second! Enjoyed the set Bethany

Agreed - there is something so effortless but beautiful and powerful about them. Almost otherworldly! Thank you, Buster.

Thank you! I think that's why I enjoyed them anyway. The horses were being so curious and cooperative - I loved all their posing. smile

Horses are so beautiful! As a kid, I was obsessed with horses even though I could only look at photos in books and draw them. This year, I'm going to find a place where I can ride horses on an open trail, my health permitting. Your pictures have just motivated me even more.

Thank you, Benny! I so hope you get a chance to do some riding. It is wonderfully therapeutic on many levels! And I can totally relate to being the kid who was obsessed with horses. smile
