spring [79/365]

it's like nature read the calendar and let spring come forth.. a warm 50 degrees drew me outside.. i let the chickens free range.. it was easy to chaperone them with the snow making a barrier they won't cross.. they followed the beaten paths and took sunbaths on the porch..

with so much snow, i too was like the chickens.. following the same beaten paths.. looking for any splash of green.. but then the chickadees reminded me that spring isn't just tree buds and sprouting daffodils, it's seeing the flick of a squirrel tail in the nest above me, knowing she is sitting on a nest of babies.. and the constant call of the homecoming Canada Geese.. and a bluebird checking out the nest boxes i placed all around me.. ah, i am not just an observer, i am a part of this.. after all, we are all made up of the same things.. i too am guided by the seasons..

the melting snow making channels, following the path of least resistance thru out my yard..

i get so caught up in the reflections of the sun and melting snow.. it was almost magical..

i stayed outside all day.. never once getting bored.. who can get bored with this much beauty? - sigh -

So beautiful, all of these are just mesmerizing. #4 and #5 are like little worlds in themselves! If anyone could be bored around that beauty, they would need to get their head checked!

at first look, the place was a muddy, mucky quagmire.. with the use of some sunlight at the right angle, it was magical..

Amen to that!
smile Don't we have to have the unattractive, sloppy messes to truly appreciate the beauty & order in our lives???

#4 Looks magical to me because at first glance it is almost like you were under the water looking up at the sky above.

Wow, great photos and great story! #4 and #5 are almost magical! :o
I have to know, are these straight out of the camera or did you do some post processing to get this effect?

Love #5. It looks like all the stars, that ever have fallen are now shining in this puddle. So beautiful!
