[spring buds]

[spring buds]

an odd day for me means not having the time or means to take photographs, that is certainly out of my norm.. today was such a day.. once i get my results back, i will talk about what kept me detained from the things i love, but i have a level of superstition to me and call me hokey, but i won't risk a jinx..

[spring buds looking up]

[spring buds looking up]

after i managed to pull my head outta my ass [ahem, recuperate] i took my camera out while the chickens got ready for bed.. it was twilight, my favourite time of day, or night.. my bones just know when it's twilight.. but i noticed all the buds that have emerged.. a little or lots of rain everyday and a distracted ME, makes for an almost surprise - Hey it's spring!

[some of last years greenery]

[some of last years greenery]

i had to use the flash, but it's nice to have some green.. i love green..

and i just couldn't let a day go by without picking up my camera.. that would be like giving up.. and i've got WAY too much fight left in me.. [yeah, i'm not just talking about the 365 challenge]

and now, i'm exhausted.. it's 9.15p and i'm hitting post then crawling into bed.. and not just to put this day behind me.. nah, i'm not done yet.. see you tomorrow.. promise!

One thing I love about spring is the vibrant almost neon greens of the new growth. It reminds me of a young childs eyes when they are discovering new things. As the season progresses the leaves turn darker green and almost leathery almost like a grizzled old man.

Every year it gives me a thrill to see new things growing - simple things are the best. Love the effect of the flash-lit greenery against the dark backdrop.

Lovely photos, Sherry.  I understand the "jinx" way of thinking.  Hope you get the results you want.
