[lily of the valley]

[lily of the valley]

lily of the valley makes me think of my gramma.. i don't know why even.. was it her favourite scent? flower? did i hear it from my mum when i was a kid and it got stuck somewhere in the recess of my mind?

it grows here in the remains of an old stone wall and i used to confuse the scent with lilac, as they both bloom at the same time and both are outside my bedroom window.. i love opening up the windows this time of year so i can fall asleep with the breeze blowing in the scent of both..

incidentally, lilac reminds me of my mum.. as she always wanted one planted outside her kitchen window.. i made sure to plant one for her when i had the means.. so many years ago..

so yesterday i plucked a little of both and put them in some old little bottles i had and put them in our bathroom..

remembering mum & her mum..

Sherry as a regular reader of your blog, I too noticed a brighter, cleaner style than in some of your previous posts. Perhaps its the longer hours of sunlight which brightens the photographic eye?

i am LOVING the longer days.. i wake with the sun, and i need responsibilities that get me out of bed.. chickens want out, hummingbirds are hungry..
but i am feeling happier.. thanks for noticing.. :)

So..... I look at your captures, which are very, very pretty and think to myself....such bright, sharp, bright, focused, bright,.... Yes I used bright several times because it made me think that maybe you were in a much brighter mood and .....
I really like the perspective of each of the two captures and definitely like the "bright" colors.
