[turkey hen]

this wild turkey hen has kind of adopted our chickens.. i catch her out in the dirt, taking dust baths with them.. and if my chickens are off in a different part of the yard, she will cluck and call to them..

for as dull as they appear at first glance, female turkeys have some pretty feathers in the sun light..

these photos aren't as clear and crisp as i like, but i was on my screened in porch looking out.. if i'd have walked outside, i'm sure i would've just caught her butt walking away.. i was happy that my camera did as well as it did to make the screen almost disappear..

How cool, to have a pal for your chickens and a new critter for you to watch!
She may teach them some new tricks!
Nice work, especially through screen!
Does she share the chicken's food???

ps.. thanks for "liking" my fireworks pix!

Maybe she decided she'd rather be the "Big Bird on Campus" by teaming up with the chickens, instead of just another ordinary turkey, among many others.....Maybe she'll try to teach them to fly away with her somewhere......Is your rooster starting to show any signs of romance with the "New Gal in Town"???? Maybe the two of them will get together & produce some Churkeys or Turkens!!! Keep us posted on any/all developments! (((GRIN)))

Oh, she is pretty although she is kind of chickennapper/kidnapper!
