night [212/365]

twilight was ominous last night.. the temperature dropped twenty degrees and the wind from earlier stilled itself.. the air felt charged.. i stood outside under the rumbling sky.. the birds and bats switched places.. i chased the lightning thru my view finder, but it was always a fraction of a second ahead of me..

Can't beat a good bit of natural drama... A couple of years ago we did a bit of a road trip in Germany and ended up in southern Bavaria and on the last night were treated to an amazing lightning display in the mountains - very dramatic.

I love dramatic and rapid changes like that even though they make me wary.

I love dramatic weather changes!
It excites all my senses....
When I lived in the Texas Panhandle, the Springtime was the time for dramatic thunderstorms, hail and the probability of tornados!
When I first moved to the area on April 1, we had a tornado warning EVERY DAY for 6 straight weeks!!!
The accompanying lightning displays were mind blowing....

That's the only thing I find missing, from where I live now.
I've been here 16 years and can't remember more than one or two lightning flashes and thunder rumbles, neither of which very close by....sigh.......
I go to Texas, several times a year, where I'm usually treated with what I've been missing......
