[snow on the apple tree]

[snow on the apple tree]

the first thing i say in the morning is nia:wen [thank you]

i always sleep with my curtains open so i can fall asleep looking outside, and so the morning light wakes me.. last night i woke up at 1.30a and i could see they sky was clear.. so i decided to go outside.. it was below freezing, so i bundled up and went onto the porch.. with the outside light off, the sky was amazing.. so clear, so many stars.. i went out there with intention.. we are in between two meteor shower events and i thought maybe i'd be lucky to see some shooting stars.. i was in luck.. in the 15 minutes or so i star gazed, i saw 4 shooting stars.. it's moments like that i am thankful.. [i would've stayed out there longer, but i heard foot steps crunching the frozen snow beside the porch and didn't stay to find out what it was.. i'm not scared of things that go bump in the night unless that thing is a skunk]

but since i didn't try to figure out how to take a photo of the stars [night sky photography baffles me] i enjoyed the snow on the twisty apple tree this morning..

Lol, I did not think skunk although that is a good thing to be scared of.  Wow, I would love to get into photographing the night sky, unfortunately being in the city we have too much light pollution.

Perhaps if more influential people were more thankful for the world around us we wouldn't be heading for the climate catastrophe that now seems inevitable.

I'm thankful for thankful people like you. The world would be so much more pleasant if people would just learn to be more thankful.
