well, kind of close to a third.. i actually enjoy taking photos like this.. off centered with some empty space, or bokeh filled space.. i would've gotten more bokeh with a macro lens, but it is what it is..

I think it is a good balance for the bokeh to me. It is detailed enough that I have context but not so detailed that it is a distraction to the main subject.

I really like this photo, Sherry. I can't take my eyes off the ice on the branches - it's not snow, it's not frost, it's ice. So fascinating. Also, the red blossoms really pop out from their white and dark surroundings.

Very nice , looks like a kind of candy. I not even think nomore of the rule of thirds. It is something in our mind that is pleasing. So most of the time if you have a picture you really like, the rule is in it.I do not know how you frame, for me it is done in my viewfinder, works better for me than on the screen;

thanks.. and so true.. yes, i frame in the viewfinder as well.. i can't get the right focus thru the screen..
