Au Champs-Élysée

4/11/17 Today we decided to go up Notre Dame so we got in line around 9:30 (the towers open at 10). We were on our way in around 10:30, so not too bad of a wait. We took our pictures, enjoyed the sights and then headed down to the crypt (it's pretty neat, but not very exciting). We took the RER to Versailles and saw a HUGE line. I asked someone close to the front how long they had been waiting... 3 hours!! Not gonna happen. Needless to say, I was pretty disappoitned since 1) we sat on the RER for 45 mins to get out there and 2) Jose had never been before. We decided to check out the gardens instead, but our museum pass wouldn't let us in (even though it says it will). Double disappointment. Now, from what I can see, it doesn't look like they've planted the flowers yet, so it's not that bad. Jose being the spirit lifter said it's no big deal and we will check out the town instead. If he's not disappointed, then I'm not either. We left out the side exit and walked around the grounds. We walked past a few shops and before we knew it, we were on a pedestrian walkway to the gardens. There are certain parts that are by ticket only but there are some parts that are open to the public. We walked around those and then found out that our ticket got us in to the Petit Trianon (the queen's residences). We walked around the grounds for a very long time, sat on the grass and had some lunch, got a little boule de glace (ice cream) and then headed home. We went back to the hotel with a baguette, cheese and wine in tow =)

After a short nap we headed to the Arc de Triomphe. The Champs-Élysée looks beautiful at night! It was so clear out tonight. I enjoyed just watching the traffic go by. We started walking down the Champs-Élysée and found a place for dinner on a side street. We took the metro home and crashed.

Another great day =)
