I try to start my day out with 5-6 servings of fruits and vegetables, and what better way than to juice, and blend. First off, I juice 1 orange, 1 apple, and 1 carrot. I then threw the juice in the blender, and added some fresh baby spinach, frozen blueberries and a 1/2 frozen banana. These are called green smoothies, because typically when you add greens, that's the color. But somehow the blueberries dominate the color chart. When I mention “green” smoothies, I usually get the “ew” factor with curled up noses. I have to tell you, raw spinach virtually has no taste. All I taste in this is the fruit. Sometime I add to the blender ground flaxseed. I don't always use the same fruits, either. Whatever I have on hand.
