Homemade Salsa

Company show up out of the blue? Need a snack, quick!! Here is a simple and easy way to make some really great tasting homemade salsa. And you probably have most of the ingredients on hand (except maybe the cilantro). Now, you can use fresh tomatoes and peppers, but to me, that's more of a pico de gallo, there's not a whole lot of sauce going on, and the flavors aren't as melded together. I like to use the canned tomatoes and chili's.

1 15 oz can of diced petite tomatoes
1 can of diced green chilis (large or small, depending on how much you like chilis - these do NOT add heat)
1/4 cup chopped onion (more if you like it)
1-2 jalepeno peppers - chopped (if you like it nice and spicey, leave seeds, if not, take the seeds out first)
2-3 cloves of minced garlic
chopped cilantro

I like my tomatoes to be just a bit smaller than they come out in the can, so I put them in the blender, and pulse for just 1 second!! Mix all ingredients, and chip away!!!

Really, you can add more of any ingredient, or add less, it's all to your liking. But be warned, this is very addicting!!
