Counter to yesterday's post

Today I decided to change the tune a bit and brighten things up a bit. The storm has not affected us as bad as it has so many others. We were lucky enough to not even lose power during the worst of it.

We stayed indoors to avoid any accidents with the closed roads or heavy rainfall... or even flying debris from wind gusts. So 'safe' has been the word for now.

This photo was originally exposed for the highlights as I wanted to get some touches of color in the dark areas, but, after I worked it a bit in-camera, the decided was made to counter-balance for the shadows.

I think I need to craft some light again

Cheers!

Thanks Peter! Mainly I wanted clean lines, bright background and let the subject be the main point of focus... plus balance out a bit the other sort of shots I've been posting lately which have a much moodier and darker tone to them hahaha.

Great composition. Looks like from a professional cataloge.

Thank you so much Heike! It's mostly work of the light coming in through the window... and I love that lens... don't use it as much as I'd like to since it's quite heavy... but at home, it's easy to carry it around.
Plus, I like how the chair is mostly black, the room mostly white, and the cushion a mix of both to help tie it all together.
