30.12.2008 Sopron and surroundings, Hungary

Locality: Yesterday we travelled (by train) to Sopron at the western edge of Hungary.

Accomodation: Adorján Vendégház, the worst and stinkiest guesthouse we have ever been before.

Hiking: We visited Brennberg, the mining settlement and walked across the forest.

Sights: Gothic church, Masters of graphics (Dürer et al.), Mining museum (Brennberg), mining exhibition (Sopron).

Eating: Joe's steakhouse (good and pricey).

Town of Sopron, Main Square

How could I describe the thick cigarette smoke that overruns the whole place?

The sign, however indicates: “Non smoker place”

Note the cigarette buds on the ashtray.

Yes, even in the bathroom.

Old miner's village Brennberg and a yellow Dacia car.

The famous pub of Brennberg was built at the basement of the church.

The entrance of the mine.

Austria over the hills. (-10 C cold)

Bus No. 3 takes us back to town.
