School Assignments

These are some older photos that I took for a photography class.

1 & 2 were for an assignment to make a set of double exposures. The instruction said that we weren't supposed to keep track of what we shot on each frame so the double exposure would be random. I cheated a little in that the first run through, I shot mostly things with patterns in them like the peacock feathers and the brick path. The second time around I shot whatever I wanted. These were two that I've always liked.

#3 was for an assigment to capture motion. I shot it on my first SLR camera, a Canon AE-1P. I had a shutter release and pressed the shutter just as the train was leaving and then let it go after what I felt was a good interval. I was lucky it came out because only one train comes thru the station each hour.

Thanks all. :) One of these days, I'll make it down to Union Station for some more train shots. I hope.

These are gorgeous. Check out Marko Modic's work with double exposures if you get the chance.
