Study In Curves - Part 2

This lily was outrageously, sinfully curvy. I've always thought of lilies as graceful and elegant. I think someone forgot to tell this flower. It looks more like a hothouse flower doing a salsa. Can't you just see it's skirt swirling to the music? Can you tell I'm watching Dancing with the Stars as I write this? :)

With these flowers, I'm really trying to highlight their shape and their flourish. More so than the color or the fact that it's a flower. I found that ruffle so intriguing. I tried them in b&w so that the color wouldn't be a distraction, but I thought it lost some of it's exoticness without the color.

All of these were taken w/ my D200, w/ the 70-180 macro, and my tripod @ ISO 100.

      georgia o'keefe comes to mind.

sometimes a flower is not just a flower.

this and the preceding set are gorgeous.

Beautiful pictures ! Nice work ! I agree with the salsa rythm... the colours are wonderful... a little b&w would have been like a little gift :)))) Love that set !
