Bighorn Sheep at The Living Desert [livingdesert.org].

We had quite a show from them! This ram was in rut and was chasing the girls all around on the rocks. The friskiness displayed more leaps and bounds than a ballet! :)

From The Living Desert website:
“Is it threatened or endangered?
Yes, the U. S. population of the Desert Bighorn found in the Peninsular Ranges of southern California is on the federal Endangered Species List. They are endangered primarily due to loss of habitat from urban development and from decimation of herds from viral respiratory infections that affect lambs.”

Thanks everyone! I forgot to mention that I shot these with my 70-300 VR lens.

Very cool!! I would have loved to be with you while you on this trip!! WOW awesome looking animal.. I hope to get some snaps of the Big Horn sheep out here!! It is that time of year for the boys to want the girls.. It is fun to watch the deer out here and how much the girls make the boys wonder all over our property leading and ignoring the boys... lol

What fun to see. I was in Palm Springs once on a golf course and was lucky enough to see three of them on the mountain. They are so impressive. Great set, thanks for sharing!
