TSC - Merry Christmas
When I woke up Sunday morning, I found these feathers strewn about the living room. I immediately thought of this post [photoblog.com] by mybigbackyard. Had that gang been giving Spike advice? Had Spike gone hunting without my knowledge? Had some poor birdie met an untimely end?
I looked at Spike who was sitting at my feet and he looked up at me, blinked, and gave me his best angelic look. He obviously wasn't going to sing.
Given that I was still half asleep and I don't drink coffee, I was boggled by the mystery for most of the morning. It wasn't til later that I found this toy [photoblog.com] behind a chair and figured out where the feathers had come from. Oh, the horror!
I decided to put the bell on Spike to give his toys fair warning that he was around and then they could take appropriate measures to hide!
He wasn't thrilled about it. To say the least.
Fur and feathers were flying. There was scratching and biting (him). Yelling and crying (also him). And hissing and sobs of frustration (me).
But we finally came to an agreement that if he posed nicely for a holiday card for everyone and agreed never to “kill” his toys again, I would take the bell off.
Then he figured out how to take it off himself and all bets were off…
P.S. If SOMEBODY [photoblog.com] tries to tell you some crazy theory involving Spike and Super Glue - DON'T listen to him. One toy and one girl were severely maimed during the filming of this post, but no cats were harmed…seriously anyway…
