These photos are of the Silver Caves in Yangshuo. I don't really know how to feel about these pics. As shot, I find the photos fascinating and the colors intriguing. But taken for what they are--caves illuminated by multi-colored lights--the natural beauty seems spoiled.
I think life can be that way as well. There is a natural beauty in many things that we feel we must enhance to make something truly beautiful. The obvious connection would be with physical appearance, but the more subtle connection--and arguably more destructive--is how we dress ourselves up (especially on social media) so that we appear happier, more interesting, more enviable to those around us and even deceive ourselves in the process. Instead, we need to live out our lives unadorned and revel in their beauty of this gift God has given us even though lately life may be a little less than we hoped for.
