The Shimao Twin Towers

In the fall of 2019, I spent a few evenings down around the iconic Shimao Twin Towers in Xiamen. One night I rode up to the 55th floor and took some photos below. It wasn't quite as spectacular as Taipei 101, but it was a lot more accessible to me at the time and a lot of fun.

Thank you, Chuck. My wife and I used to hang out in that area every Friday night.

#1 and #3 are excellent captures. I especially like the reflections on the water in #3.

When I think of China, these modern-looking images do not cross my mind! I will definitely have to change my mindset. All of these are great captures and I especially like the serpentine light trails in the last photo! 😊

Well, the China you envision does still exist, just outside of the big cities. Here is a video that focuses on Xiamen and the more developed southern part of the island. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KT_AtBx6RqI

However, you will find that once you get out of the big cities, you travel back in time about 50 years when you look at the condition of the buildings and the agricultural conditions of the countryside.

So many things in this video surprise me! Xiamen definitely looks like a modern city and I recognized the Shimao Twin Towers that you took photos of. Beautiful.

#1 is a great capture. I like how it starts off dark at the top with just the two lit up towers and then as you scroll down it becomes lighter and lighter.  Really a nice photo showing the grandeur of the towers.
