My favorite photo from 2016 is this headshot of Lauren, my beautiful wife. It was taken very early in the year, back in January. It's my favorite image, not only because she looks absolutely stunning, but because I learned so much about editing and retouching by reworking the file over and over again. I practiced the new skills I was learning from watching YouTube videos, including the best way to apply filters, round-tripping a file between Lightroom and Photoshop, dodging and burning, high-frequency separation and managing color profiles. I became much more confident in my editing skills, though I clearly have much more to learn in the new year.
(My one wish for the new year is that I'm able to quickly find a new job so that I can rejoin Lauren and our kids in southern California, our new home.)
Wow, I'm not sure what editing and retouching you've done, so that means you did a superb job! She's stunning and you'll get requests for portraits based on this.
