This is the start of a sand painting being made by an artist in Washington Square Park. (more of this later)

The fountain, people splashing, people playing, there's a man selling ice cream

They waved at me before I shot this.

I can't remember why they were all wearing orange shirts.

The buildings around the park. Many are part of NYU.

And some are dream residences.

Typical NYer

These guys insisted I take their picture, and then they took mine.

4th Street fair… spice and tea stand

Smelled really good but the vendor was too busy on cell phone to talk to customers so no one was buying.

Dresses full of color and pattern.

Mini metal army

Sad looking doggie

Bags of color

Wonder how many are actually vintage and how many are just cheap repros

Hidden oasis

Ah back in the day

Bleeker mural. The people I was with just walked past, their journey didn't include browsing.

After dinner at Cornelia St Cafe we went to Grom for gelato. I had the flavor of the month which is a cinnamon with white chocolate bits and a Baci chocolate.

A fountain respite

Alarm box decorated with liberty's torch and falderall

You can see all the way up to 34th street.

The park as the sun starts to move evening west.

I wanted to “initiate” this girls sneakers.

Remember the first pic?

It's about 4hours later. All in sand. His own mandala.

You can feel the energy.

The artist at work.

GROM ! My favorite gelato place -- I've even forgiven them that they don't have walnut anymore. Thanks for bringing a lovely view of NYC (and now I know what your other avatar is! amazing is right.)
