My daughter was such a little trooper on our Europe trip. She joined us as we traveled by train/car/bus/plane/Uber, and on foot throughout Belgium, England, France and Italy.
Though she was desperately homesick at times and sick to death of trekking through cobblestone alley after cobblestone alley, she hung in there.
I tried to plan at least one fun thing that she would enjoy every day - a horse and carriage ride through Bruges, Gelato stops everywhere in Italy, beach days in Polignano a Mare, a trip to Disney in Paris, and here at The Louvre, after snapping this shot, I let her go crazy splashing and playing in the fountain (it was so hot in Paris that summer!)
The security guard eventually came out and put a stop to it. He looked comically irritated by the amount of people that had waded into the fountain while his back was turned, but it was just enough to recharge her batteries for the next leg of the journey that day.
