I brought my lensbaby on a road trip up to Revelstoke Mountain (also known as "The Stoke") for a snowboard weekend, hoping to have a little play with it while I was there.
I ended up having more than enough time to have a wander through the town with it as it snowed so heavily that they shut the highway down due to avalanche risk. I can think of worse places to be stuck ;-) (Unless you don't love snow like I do - then it probably would have been terrible for you!)
Revelstoke is a bit underrated as far as ski towns go. From downtown Revelstoke to the base of the mountain (and onto the lift) is a ten minute drive, if that. It's a big mountain with a lot of terrain - lots of nice, long (and wide) runs to play around on. The village at the base is quite new (the resort only opened in 2007) and there's a good choice of pubs and restaurants.
The town of Revelstoke itself has a few fun little ski themed bars to enjoy some apres-ski drinks with the locals, and lodging is very reasonably priced.
The only drawback for us Vancouverites is the 6 hour drive, which can be a bit of a deterrent to popping off for a ski weekend, but - good news! - there are now regular 55 minute flights from Vancouver for quite cheap. City to slope in 1 hour! Can't beat that:)
