Clouds and landscape. A good example, in my book, of a love and hate relationship. When in the right place and angle, the fluffs of water vapour and dust catch the light perfectly and add drama to maybe an otherwise "nothing" scene. However, on the other hand when in the wrong place at the wrong time, they "ruin" probably a respectable one.

I have had a fair few run-ins with them. Either in my favour or otherwise. While it used to bother me significantly earlier, I more or less accept the 50-50 chance these days. Not taking it too seriously keeps photography in its place which is at the very best a relaxing, focussed, meditative hobby and at its worst a patient but stern teacher. Fair enough.

Below are a handful of images that provided the inspiration for this post. They are in no way exhaustive (which means I will bore you all with the same topic in a few months :)). Also I will reserve judgement on which ones are the better or poor images. Feel free to chip in :)

Love the cloud frame in #1, and the velvet look of #3.

I too like them. They happened on the go. The first one was caught through the window of a narrow gauge train that was climbing up into the clouds.
The third one was simply from the balcony of our homestay on a winter night as I noticed some low-hanging, fast-moving clouds in the valley.
