Rustic Old Train Station

I'm just going to keep at this monochrome business until I get into a niche of my own. ⊙‿⊙

New Richmond, Wisconsin, USA. It's beautiful here, but I'm only sharing the train station today. The town was established 1857 but I'm not sure when this train station was built. My husband said that the train used to run along the river.

I probably could crop off the road sign on the right of the last image for a more dated look. I'll probably just leave it! :-)

Thanks for viewing! ▰˘◡˘▰

Tawnya, I love the monochrome!  Wonderful captures and I so enjoy learning about local history.  Too funny w/the last image...I didn't even notice the road sign when I looked at it, the leading line of the tracks is so powerful.  Then I read your caption...what sign? Oh, that sign :)

Well thanks! I'm glad to hear the road sign doesn't stick out like a sore thumb! ... I learned to take photos of older things/places/(people) in monochrome here. I'm only a hobby photographer so I learn on photoblogs.com.  I'm also learning that people like to learn here too - so I'm more conscious to mention bits of info people might be interested in. I suppose that helps create interest in the photo. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks Mr. Gil!  (Still going to find something that the cyanotype works well with - my mission! haha)

What a cute little building! I really like the sepia look - perfect for the subject.

I learned the idea here - to take photos of aged places or things in monochrome. :D It's exciting when you can apply new knowledge to your skill set. Thanks for commenting.
