Though were in the heart of winter, in the south of France we’re spoiled with warmer temperatures then the north of Europe.

These violettes were adopted from Toulouse, the French city well known for its pink-brick buildings and parks full of ... violettes. There’s even a famous perfume from 1936 called “Vilolettes de Toulouse.”

The violettes start popping up through the grass around Christmas and progressively cover the whole area under the azerole tree.
