After Japan Tsunami

by Yokai - January. 13, 2012 7637 views

On January 2-4 in 2012, I visited Tohoku Region ( northern prefectures of Japan) .

Ten months have passed since the earthquake and tsunami, but many people can't make their new houses on their own ground. Some of them have to find new places and jobs to live.

On the other hand, we are gradually accelerating economic recovery. Tohoku will be one of the best regions in a few years.

a road swept away by tsunami

I was totally hypnotized by this unbelievable scene …

Where have the houses disappeared?

Where are people now? Some people are still under the cold water, others are living in another places as refugees…

I couldn't stop tears running …

abandoned hospital

Tsunami reached 4th floor !!

A heap of rubble, millions of trashes for you … but all were treasures for the people in the disaster area.

This place WAS not the sea but the land before March 11 in 2011.

a prefabricated convenience store

a miracle pine : only one tree (of 70,000 trees) survived !

It is impressive to see again the pictures of this devastation. I know by my Japanese friend that you are working hard to recover from this disaster and you are doing very well.
