Mt. Tanigawa-dake is one of my favorite mountains in Japan. Many climbers visit there to enjoy the great views and to take pictures.

On the other hand, it is the most dangerous mountain in the world. Accoding to Wikipedia, "As of December 2014, since its initial exploration and route-finding in the early 1930s, a total of 805 people have died on Tanigawa-dake. (Compare with the approximately 200 people who have died on Mt. Everest over a comparable period)."

I took this picture in October. Tanigawa-dake is covered with deep snow now.

Such a magnificent view! I didn't think Japan had this kind of rugged mountain. Looks like it used to be covered with snow and ice.

It is a magical beauty that is both soft and rugged at the same time. I bet this location covered in snow is quite stunning also.
