I knew of all astronomical events, the solar eclipse was one I had to see in person. We were located not far from the line of totality, so we decided to make an adventure of it.
After doing some extensive research, my husband, my cousin (Underpowered), and I set out on a seven hour car ride to a campsite near McCall, Idaho.
The town itself is a small touristy town, located next to a lake that seemed to be really popular for water sports activities.
There are plenty of places to shop and sight see around the area, I only wish I had taken more photos of this cute little town.
Our camp sight was not too far from the town. A little place called Last Chance Campground. And it was literally the last place we found that was accessible.
Close enough that we still had cell reception, but far enough up that it was very cold at night, even in the middle of summer.
Personally I love the fresh crisp cold mountain air!
