Good story Sydney. Yes you are correct that the experience is lost. How many people int he waiting room had their nose stuck on their cell?

HI Camellia, I have to admit, I brought my Kindle with me, to  read, while I was waiting. I would have to say that almost 100% of the people in the waiting room of approx. 30 people, were in one type of electronic device or an other. You know what is more disturbing, if this 95 year old gentleman would of started a conversation, with someone using their device, he probably would of gotten the cold shoulder. I was lucky he chose me, it was very enlightening, enjoyable experience. I hope he re-appears in 3 months, I will take the initiative.

You are absolutely right Sydney and quite honestly, depending on my mood that day, a couple of years ago,  I would have probably been one of those giving him a cold shoulder as well.  As I get older, I know I am still younger than you, but as I get older I find myself talking to strangers more and more and it's become more and more fun grinning

We have created a society Camellia, where we have taken the humanity out of our life style, by sty fulling our will, to communicate with family, friends, and strangers, by choosing...and it is choice, which I fail to understand, to communicate in some form electronically as opposed to in personal dialogue.  This is not an opinion I have formed, as I have aged. When I owned my business, a lifetime ago, I refused to give orders to my suppliers, over the phone, unless, and until the actually came to my office. They came to my office. In my view, it is one of the main factors why this world is in such a disary. Alexander Graham Bell would be horrified I suspect, what has happened, in a major part due to his telephone. This is not a recording:)

This is not a recording either. Sadly we are in the minority. The new generation will eventually realize what they are missing.

I agree...most of us, I suspect were much like the millennial generation is today. However this mania, I notice spreads across all age groups. I have no problem with using technology to enhance your life experience....hell I do that about 8 hours a day on my computer...not at the expense of losing your identity in relation to communicating with folks strictly in a electronic mode. I don't even like having a protracted conversation of the phone...of course I am not mainstream person.

That's a great motto - "do not worry"
